eCoupons Knowledge for my Kroger Shoppers

You can load Kroger eCoupons onto your Kroger card from the internet.  It might be a good idea to make note of what coupons you load so that you will know what you have to use.  These eCoupons will automatically be used when your card is swiped at checkout upon purchasing the qualifying products.  The eCoupon is considered a store coupon so be sure to stack these with any manufacturer's coupons you might have.    Kroger also accepts Cellfire and Shortcuts eCoupons so make sure to visit those sites as well before your shopping trip.

Tip of the Day - Grab a couple of those in-store coupons

While shopping you will run across coupons posted throughout the store.  They may come from the dispensers that spit one coupon at a time out, from tear pads or they may even peel off of the front of a product itself.  You need to keep your eye out for these coupons.  If it is for a product you buy, stop and grab a couple.  Most people make the mistake of thinking these types of coupons must be used during your current shopping trip but this is not so.  Grab, tear or peel a couple off and organize them in your coupon book to save for a good sale.

The Walgreens May Coupon Booklet can be found in the front of any Walgreens where their weekly sales ads are stacked up.  The coupon is actually for $2/1 Off Clip-On but should take $4 off since you are purchasing two.  This brings up an interesting teaching point.  In my experience, whether they will take both manufacturer's coupons is up to the store.  When you have a B1G1 free coupon, they considered that coupon being used for the item you are getting for free therefore you can still use a second manufacturer's coupon for the first item.  Most stores will allow this but some will say that you are trying to use two manufacturer's coupons for the same products.  It just depends on how they look at it.

Tip of the Day - Calculating Your Saving

If you are trying to keep track of how much you are saving your family with shopping sales and using coupons, you need to look at your receipt closely.  Most grocery stores will have a "Savings Summary" that will nicely total your amounts saved for vendor coupons, store coupons, sales, etc.  What this summary probably won't take into consideration is any rain checks.  When you use rain checks, they often manually enter the price of the item according to the rain check.  If this happens, the computer does not see this as a savings of any kind.  When you cash in your rain checks, make sure to add the difference in the regular price and rain check price to your total savings.  Otherwise your savings is not truly correct and your numbers will show less saving then you actually had.  You know we don't want that, now do we?!

I had another wonderful week of shopping at Publix.  Here's what my savings looked like:

I had a Publix gift card that I recieved from the Kimberly Clark rebate (Huggies products basically) that I posted about on Friday.  If I receive a gift card, I include it in my savings once I use the card.  If I'm receiving a cash rebate, I count it in my savings the day I purchase the items I'll be receiving the rebate on.  Make sense?

Tip of the Day - Create a seperate e-mail address for couponing

I know you are now reading my blog and signing up for all these free samples and coupons.  In doing so, your e-mail account might be a bit busier then it used to be.  My suggestion is to open a gmail or yahoo e-mail account that you use just for couponing.  Whenever you register for that free sample or newsletter, use the new address so that your main e-mail account does not become overloaded with e-mails you may not have time to go through everyday.  This way you can visit the account a couple of times per week and do a mass delete if you have to!

Tip of the Day - Don't miss a week of deals

Don't miss a week of shopping!  I know this sounds hard to most of you or some of you may be saying "woo-hoo"!  You've probably already learned that the sales change each week.  In order to really save large amounts of money you must do some stockpiling.  I can almost bet that each week there is going to be at least a few items on sale that you need purchase in order to replenish your stockpile.  If you miss this sale, you may have to pay full price for them in a week or two.  You may end up hitting a store or two every week but it shouldn't take you as long since you will have your list ready before you get there and you are not buying a huge shopping cart full of items since you go each week.  There are weeks, like when the kids are sick, where it just won't be worth it and that's okay.  You can't get every deal and you shouldn't stress yourself out trying to do so.  Try to plan a shopping trip into your weekly schedule to get the deals but don't feel as though you're not doing well in your couponing if you miss a week every once in a awhile.  We're all human!

Okay so I know I shouldn't eat these but they are soooo good!!  Visit Lay's Be Snack Ready on facebook and receive a B1G1 coupon.  I tried something I've never tried before when printing this coupon and it actually worked.  When I clicked print, my printer information box came up asking if I was ready to print and under "Number of Copies" I clicked 3.  It did print 3 B1G1 coupons!  This probably isn't exactly coupon legal but I do have 3 legitimate coupons!
